We pregged hfrs today, no not we, they, I watched from the comfort of the warm pickup. Total of 68 hd, all bred as one group for 42 days, natural service. 36 were our own heifers 2 were open and 32 were purchased heifers that we purchased last fall. The purchased heifers were a month older and 100 lbs heavier at least. 9 of them were open. So it seems our heifers may have benefitted from our years of selection for fertility. Or maybe it was just coincidence.

My dogs bringing the bunch out of the big pen and up the alley.

Half way up the alley.

They are in.

My daughter loaded the run.

The vet on the left with a trainee from Columbia, the hfrs all got pregged twice.

My dear wife operating the squeeze.

One of our AnXGv hfrs, a bit heavy headed, but pregnant.

A little Agnus heifer.

Gv X heifer.

Dennis, a bit more cow then necessary at times, you can dial down an excess, impossible to do anything with something they don't have. Smile

I'm still here, and still mean. Just staying too busy.

Wondered just yesterday what you'd get if you crossed an Ester with a Rooster (who is breeding cows again, and much happier than when he lived with the steer)?

MS, in the vicinity of trying to figure out how to keep WT and others from dropping wolves off in my neighborhood, for one of those big effers could really ruin my coffee break.
