Temp was hot today (90) and didn't feel like doing anything
except check on cows...

Found some of the girls at the beach- enjoying the cool creek..

A few cows out grazing on the hay meadows-some others in the hills...This heat has definitely browned things up..

A little bull calf that keeps catching my eye.. Double bred Bannon of Wye.

Same bull calf...

Horses and some of the cows were hanging in the trees

Nice pictures Oldtimer. Calling for a chance of frost here tonight with morning temps in the 40's all this coming week so I decided to fire up the outside wood furnace by Central Boiler. 58 in the house this morning and it also heats the water so will save $ on electric bill regardless if cold outside or not.

Haven't checked cows for a week or so- and while I knew they had some snow to survive on- went north to check their water situation...

While some of the snow has melted- and the major water holes frozen over-- the creek/spring is running good..

Definitely enough snow they could still survive on snow if the water table wasn't up-- but sure nice to see it is and they can get water from the springs...

Snowing tonight now- Most has been going south all day...Doesn't look like we will pick up much--but they are saying the first arctic front by the weekend- and below 0 temps...

Spit a few snowflakes off and on today-- but except for the drifts- most the ground is bare...I'd love to be able to graze on these north pastures til about the 1st of December-- than move them onto the river bottom and graze without feeding til after the New Year...(Doubt it will happen- but a guy can hope)....

But I see on the state report that Red Lodge has a foot of snow...
