PostSubject: Cows and Grass   Mon Aug 22, 2011 10:00 pm

A couple days ago I had the privilege of having to babysit my two three year old granddaughters...The only thing I could think of to accomplish is go out and check the bunch of cows on the creek..

Just to show some folks- there are a couple of trees in NE Montana..

Cows in 7th Heaven- more grass than they can eat- and water 50 feet from them.

Snoopy cows and calves checking us out..

The OCC Prestige daughter looking for a handout..

And this is the reason for their nosiness- Grandaugter Pidge feeding them cake..

Here in Ohio OT we call those shrubs Laughing Beautiful country. I have never seen any part of Montana. My mother went once. She called me from there and said she never wanted me to see it for I would never come back. Cows look good to.

Those two granddaughters sure like cows and horses... The other one caught me on the road the yesterday- and asked to "see Papa's cows"- and I couldn't turn her down... So we drove out and checked them out for a few hours- and fed them some more cow candy....

Yep this country is sure pretty this year...We picked up 3/4's of an inch of rain in the pasture area on Monday- and tonight another storm went thru- and by what I could see on the radar it looked like we may have gotten an inch or so again...

We were planning on doing another cull on the bull calves this weekend and band a few more that aren't meeting my expectations--but may have to wait a week or so if the corrals are flooded...
