| As you become familiar with the bells and whistles here; when you run across issues that need some attention; post them here and I`ll eventually get it fixed. I am not too good at this; trial and lots of error... and if we need other categories pertaining to cattle industry or breeding discussion; just post them as a new topic or suggest new ideas and we`ll get it done. I don`t expect this to ever become a juggernaut of posting; maybe it won`t even get off the ground floor...but hopes are for a respite from the gotcha/oneupmanship that typifies many chat sites. We need, and expect to be challenged...how else can we expand beyond our own paradigm? So, welcome...and let`s begin  |

you have to be registered to post; but anyone can read ...or at least that is the intention; I think that`s where we currently are. |

| I believe the screen has now been changed; without changing anything else; always a fear  yes, choosing the correct emoticons here may be tougher than selecting a herd sire I have invited but a few to join us here from my small email account to get us started; but feel free to invite your friends to join us...we`ll keep them friends. |

I wondered what the blank black box at the top of Keeney's Corner actually represented .... is the "darkside" indicative of that portion of the genotype we do not see in any animal's phenotype?
If this is going to be about rising up beyond the status quo of the registered segment, to avoid the quagmire of traditional registered habits with its arbitrary monetary values, would it not be better to have a rule that no individual animal be publicly named, acclaimed or disclaimed ....
a corn plant in a bean field is just another "weed"....
ah well, my mind is always focused on the mortality of individuals but "life" goes on in one form or another.....
I'm always reminding myself that the principles are exceedingly simple, the difficulties lie in the application in order to achieve a more lasting improvement in the genetic efficiency of beef production : ) |
